The U.S. Agency for International Development’s Office of U.S. Foreign Disaster Assistance (USAID/OFDA) has organized the first Latin American and Caribbean Forum on Community-Level Disaster Risk Reduction, to be held January 29 and 30, 2014, in Sonsonate, El Salvador.
The purpose of this forum is to exchange experiences in the implementation of local disaster risk reduction (DRR) projects in the region, funded through small grants awarded by USAID/OFDA’s Regional Disaster Assistance Program.
The event will bring together representatives from regional organizations and staff from local non-governmental organizations that have implemented or are developing community-level DRR programs or projects, with the aim of encouraging the analysis of these experiences and conversations about lessons learned in order to improve the implementation of future DRR projects.
Spaces for this event have already filled; however, we would like the broadest participation possible and therefore invite you to participate in the forum virtually, through the following link: http://ustream.tv/channel/foro-rrd-ofdalac/
To participate in the virtual forum, free of charge, please fill out the registration form found via the above location, or at the link http://goo.gl/uuXisM, no later than Monday, January 27, 2014.
